Lindsey Wamsley, LPC-S

Pediatric Behavioral Health Therapist, Oncology

Lindsey joined the team at Life with Cancer in August 2023. As a pediatric behavioral health therapist, oncology and licensed professional counselor supervisor, Lindsey aims to support children, adolescents, and families across the cancer trajectory through a relational and compassionate lens. Lindsey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.

Lindsey provides both individual and group therapy in the outpatient setting at the Family Center. In her over 15 years of clinical practice, Lindsey has worked in diverse settings including pediatric medical centers, non-profits and private practice settings where her specialties included survivors of trauma with a focus on adolescent depression, non-suicidal self-harm, and suicidal ideation. She is a Trust Based Relational Practitioner (TBRI®) which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to address the complex needs of vulnerable children and adolescents through empowering, connecting, and correcting principles. Her area of focus is addressing the whole-child through evidence-based integrative modalities—and advancing research which emphasizes the family connection and reduces symptoms of pediatric medical traumatic stress and developmental trauma.

Lindsey can often be found presenting research and psychoeducation nationally and advocating through lobbying efforts for childhood cancer families. As a native Texan, Lindsey enjoys connecting with nature through hiking and gardening with her family. She also likes to spend her free time getting lost in a new fiction book and creative writing.
