Life with Cancer Volunteer Opportunities
Life with Cancer welcomes and appreciates volunteers who wish to help us support the needs of individuals and families living with cancer. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Front Desk, 5:15pm to 7:45pm Thursday
- Greet and direct program participants to class rooms
- Answer telephone and complete administrative work, as necessary
Videographer
- Volunteer videographer needed to record guest speakers for two hours, day or evening, from time to time. Will need own cameras and lighting.
Calling all seamstresses!
- Can you sew 10x12” pillows to ease recovery from breast cancer surgery? We have some fabric and fiberfill, but your donation of supplies would also be appreciated.
Musicians
- Volunteer to play relaxing, uplifting or inspiring music on the oncology unit for a couple of hours each week. Guitarists are especially encouraged to volunteer.
Reiki practitioner
- Provide individual Reiki treatments at the Life with Cancer Family Center in Fairfax, VA
Hair stylists
- Work on an on-call basis with hospitalized patients to trim or style hair or to provide simple manicures (no nail clipping or cuticle trimming). Ability to be available on short notice is necessary.
