Planning Ahead: A Guide to Living Fully to the End (FC, Rm A)

This four-week series is for anyone, wherever you are on your cancer journey. Session I, November 18: Creating and Crafting Your Legacy. What brings meaning to your life? What is meant by an ethical will? LWC Oncology Therapists Drucilla Brethwaite, LCSW, OSW-C and Jenny Eckert, LCSW, OSW-C, RPT will guide you as you identify, implement & preserve the things you'd like to become part of your legacy.

Session II, November 25: Palliative and Hospice Care and Reviewing the Circle of Life. LWC Oncology Therapist Micheline Toussaint, LCSW, RYT will explain the differences and significance of palliative and hospice care. Oncology Nurse Navigator Marsha Komandt, RN, BSN OCN¬ģ, will review the natural process of life from birth to death and the changes in body functions that occur.

Session III, December 2: Dr. Nicholas Robert will present ‚ÄúDeveloping a Road Map to Dealing with a Life Threatening Disease‚ÄĚ and an oncology nurse will present, ‚ÄúPlanning a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving‚ÄĚ.

Session IV, December 9: Practical and Legal Issues: Legal and funeral home representatives will discuss the benefits of estate planning, the need for advance directives, a will or trust and the making of funeral arrangements and the costs involved, providing worksheets and templates to assist you.
